Material and Design Engineering covers fundamental research areas of design methodology and material science including product reliability, optimal design, automatic design, CAD/CAM/CAE/CAT, structural strength and composites. Faculty and student research ranges from the purely scientific to applied studies and involves perspectives of mechanics, physics, computer sciences, and historical aspects of materials, design, and entrepreneurial ventures.
